Who can Equine Involvement Therapy help?

Mindfulness, complete acceptance, transformation and healing in the company of horses.

With the support and guidance of equine involvement therapy founder and practitioner Jo Corfield and the company of her gentle and experienced horses, Hopethruhorses offers help and a lasting solution to mental and emotional health problems, including

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • PTSD
  • Children and young people with behavioural and emotional difficulties
  • Autism

The horses provide a non-judgmental and accepting environment, free from preconceptions and expectations; especially important for those struggling with very low self-esteem, anger management issues, a lack of confidence, aggression and self-awareness.

Professional Equine Involvement Therapist Jo Corfield, beautiful countryside and the company of horses create an extraordinarily healing environment. The horses strength and presence is immensely powerful, and their responses to those around them, often marked by the subtlest change in behaviour or attitude, acts as a mirror of human emotion.

Mental and emotional health problems are healed and resolved as sessions progress and a remarkable relationship with the horse is formed through silent communication. Destructive emotions and perceptions are replaced with an awareness of inner strength and calm and a sense of achievement, satisfaction, self-assurance and self-worth.

Participants learn to live in the present, freeing themselves of limiting memories of the past and fears about the future, and in doing so find themselves able to deal with pressure and communicate more effectively, articulating their thoughts and feelings without frustration, fear or anger.

Jo Corfield is the founder of Hopethruhorses and has helped many adults and children manage and fully overcome panic, anxieties, depression, stress or an eating disorder.  Equine Involvement Therapy has also been incredibly successful with deep rooted social and behavioural problems.
